Mayor Webb announces free landfill day and introduces new city manager in Grantsburg

Residents of Tooele County will have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items for free this Saturday, as the county has designated a "free dump day" at the landfill. This initiative encourages community members to clean out their garages and declutter their homes without the burden of disposal fees. To take advantage of this service, residents must present their driver's licenses to confirm their residency.

During the recent Council of Governments meeting held on May 15, 2025, officials emphasized the importance of spreading the word about this event, urging attendees to share the information within their communities. The meeting also welcomed Michael, the new city manager of Grantsburg, who was introduced to the group.

In addition to the landfill initiative, the council discussed ongoing projects and confirmed the approval of a COG funding application that had been carried over from the previous month. The meeting, noted for its productivity, also touched on upcoming community events, including a Memorial Day ceremony scheduled for May 26 at Veterans Square, starting at 11 AM.
