Brianna Robinson and Sanaya Sangster honored for academic excellence and community service

The Garfield Heights School District celebrated its annual Roses for Teachers Ceremony on May 16, 2025, honoring outstanding students and their impactful educators. The event showcased the achievements of remarkable students, including Brianna Robinson and Sanaya Sangster, who both exemplify academic excellence and community involvement.

Brianna Robinson, a standout student, is set to graduate with numerous accolades, including the prestigious Empre Bridal Presidential Scholarship worth $19,000 and several other scholarships totaling over $13,000. She has demonstrated exceptional dedication by enrolling in College Credit Plus (CCP) courses and participating in a cosmetology internship at CVCC. Brianna's commitment extends beyond academics; she is actively involved in the Key Club and National Honor Society, showcasing her leadership and service to the community. She plans to pursue an aviation program to become a pilot.

Sanaya Sangster, another exceptional graduate, is recognized for her optimism and dedication. Graduating summa cum laude with an honors diploma, Sanaya will attend Ohio State University to study nursing. She has also taken multiple CCP courses to advance her education. In addition to her academic pursuits, Sanaya works as a home caregiver, reflecting her passion for helping others.

Both students expressed deep gratitude for their teachers, particularly highlighting the positive influence of Miss Bassam, who has created a supportive learning environment that encourages personal and academic growth. The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of these students but also emphasized the vital role teachers play in shaping their futures.
