The Narberth Borough Council convened on May 15, 2025, to discuss several key issues, including the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charger and updates on the North Avenue bridge project.
A significant topic of discussion was the decision to remove a fuel tank and install a Level 2 EV charger to support the borough's growing fleet of electric vehicles. Following a fuel tank leak last year, the council approved a budget amendment to facilitate the purchase of a transfer tank for winter operations. The new EV charger will be installed in a secure area of the borough yard, allowing police vehicles to charge while on duty. The council unanimously voted in favor of this initiative, although a grant application to fund the project was denied.

The council discussed the need to extend the contract deadline to July 2029 due to the complexity and duration of the project. However, some council members expressed concerns about the long timeline and suggested waiting until August for more concrete information from the contractor before making a decision. Ultimately, the council agreed to table the motion for further discussion.
Additionally, the council reviewed the borough's appointment policy for boards and commissions, aiming to establish a clearer timeline and process for candidate consideration. The policy will be reworked and presented again in June.
In other updates, the council highlighted upcoming community events, including the Memorial Day Parade and the Narberth Food Truck Festival scheduled for September 20. The meeting concluded without any urgent matters requiring an executive session.
