Middleton City Council approves Good Neighbor Fest and outdoor sound permits

Middleton's License & Ordinance Committee has approved two significant special event permits, paving the way for community festivities this summer. The committee unanimously granted permits for the annual Roll and Stroll event and the Middleton Good Neighbor Fest, both of which promise to engage residents and promote local camaraderie.

The Roll and Stroll, scheduled to take place at Capital Brewery, will feature a 2-mile walk, a 5K run, and biking options of 25K and 50K. Notably, all activities are untimed, allowing participants to enjoy the event at their own pace. The committee noted that the routes remain unchanged from previous years, which simplifies logistics and reduces the need for police assistance.

In addition, the Middleton Good Neighbor Fest will occur from August 20 to August 24 at Fireman's Park. The festival will include a variety of activities, with amplified sound for DJs and speeches planned from 8:30 AM until midnight. Organizers have collaborated with the police department to refine the traffic control plan based on feedback from last year, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees. A potential change to the 5K route is also under consideration, although details are still being finalized.

These events are expected to foster community spirit and provide enjoyable experiences for residents, highlighting Middleton's commitment to hosting inclusive and engaging public gatherings.
