The Oneida Special School District celebrated academic achievements at the 1st and 2nd Grade Awards Night on May 15, 2025, recognizing outstanding students for their accomplishments in reading and math.
Highlighting the event, Mia Sexton emerged as a standout, achieving both the highest reading score and the most reading growth among her peers. Her success was celebrated alongside other students who met their reading stretch growth, including Andrew Beatty, Jensen Fry, Mahil Patel, and several others.
In math, the awards showcased impressive performances as well. Duncan Culver was recognized for having the highest score on the I Ready assessment, while Avie Terry was noted for completing the most math pathways and achieving significant growth in the same program.
The ceremony also honored students for their overall academic excellence, with certificates of completion awarded to a number of first and second graders. The event concluded with students proudly displaying their certificates for family photos, marking a memorable night of recognition and celebration of hard work and dedication in the classroom.
