Cobb County Board approves temporary polling location change for June 2025 election

The Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration convened a special meeting on May 16, 2025, to address a critical change in polling locations for the upcoming special primary election. The sole agenda item focused on relocating the Shallowford Falls Precinct due to unexpected school renovations that will render the original polling site unusable during the summer elections.

Director Paul outlined the plan to temporarily move the Shallowford Falls Precinct, which serves 3,292 active voters, to a nearby location at Hightower 01, just half a mile away. This change is set for the June 17 special primary election and any potential runoff on July 15. The board confirmed that voters will receive timely notifications through postcards, ensuring no delays in communication regarding the relocation.

The board unanimously approved the motion to relocate the precinct, emphasizing the importance of maintaining accessibility for voters. Additionally, the meeting touched on the necessity for proper language in communications regarding budget approvals, clarifying that recent expenditures for precinct cards were ratifications of prior actions and did not require additional funding.
