A significant development is underway in Parsippany-Troy Hills as Murata Electronics, a family-owned company specializing in defense and aerospace, expands its operations. During the recent Planning Board meeting, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Mr. Baratta, detailed the company's growth and plans to relocate its power and actuation systems division to a newly purchased facility at 20 Waterview Boulevard.

Murata, which has been in Parsippany for three years after outgrowing its previous location in Montville, is set to bring over 80 employees to the new site. The expansion will require modifications, including the construction of a loading dock to accommodate larger delivery trucks, which is essential for their logistics operations. Mr. Baratta emphasized the company's commitment to being a good neighbor, noting that the anticipated increase in traffic would be manageable, with only a few deliveries expected each day.

The board members praised the collaboration between the township and Murata, highlighting how zoning adjustments allowed the company to remain in the area, preventing potential negative impacts on the local economy. This partnership is seen as a win for both the township and the company, ensuring that the property continues to serve a commercial purpose.

In addition to the loading dock, the proposed changes include a slight increase in impervious coverage due to the addition of a loading area and mechanical equipment pads. The project also plans to enhance accessibility with an ADA-compliant sidewalk connecting to the nearby Whole Foods.
