Mid Valley Youth Soccer Association secures lease for Judge Gilbert Garza Park

The Weslaco City Commission meeting held on February 4, 2025, focused on several key agenda items, including a significant request from the Mid Valley Youth Soccer Association.

The meeting commenced with a discussion regarding the approval of a lease agreement for the use of Judge Gilbert Garza Park by the Mid Valley Youth Soccer Association. Commissioner Farias proposed the motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Gonzales. The lease is set to cover the period from February 5 through May 31. Following the motion, the commission voted unanimously in favor, allowing the soccer association to utilize the park for their activities.

Mayor recognized Amanda Connell and several board members from the soccer association, acknowledging their efforts in developing and expanding the program, which is now affiliated with US Soccer.
