Cultural funding staff provided numbers showing continuing demand for city grants. Jesus Pantel, cultural funding supervisor, said Nexus received 541 applications this cycle; 454 were eligible and 105 awards were made totaling $525,000. Pantel also said the city received notice of NEA rescissions and had submitted appeals; as of the meeting staff had confirmed at least 17 local rescissions and were tracking additional reports.

Public commentators also told the commission that the ACME process felt rushed and insufficiently inclusive.
