Brunswick County proposes 51 new positions to enhance public services and support growth

In a recent meeting on May 19, 2025, the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners outlined significant plans to enhance public services and address the needs of a rapidly growing population. The board proposed the addition of 51 new positions, with 42 dedicated to government services and 9 to enterprise funds, aiming to bolster public safety and improve service response times amid increasing demands.

Senior resources will also see an 8% funding increase to support programs at five district senior centers and offset reductions in federal funding.
