The Ogden Valley Planning Commission has taken a significant step toward the development of a new subdivision at Powder Mountain. During their meeting on September 26, 2023, the commission approved a preliminary subdivision application for the property located at 5780 North Davenewick Ridge, submitted by owner Rick Everson.

This subdivision, originally platted in 2014, consists of 20 building lots intended for single-family homes. The current proposal aims to amend the existing layout, slightly increasing the size of the lots and introducing a cul-de-sac design along with common open space. Notably, the application does not add or remove any lots, which means the existing water and sewer provisions remain adequate without the need for additional feasibility studies.

The subdivision is situated in a Destination Recreation Resort (DRR1) zone, which aligns with the area's development goals. The planning commission noted that the application has undergone thorough review by county agencies, all of which have either approved or recommended the project for approval.

After a brief discussion, the commission unanimously voted in favor of the preliminary approval, with plans for the application to return for final consideration in the coming months. This decision marks a positive development for the community, as it supports the ongoing growth and enhancement of residential options in the Ogden Valley area.
