The MSD Steuben County Board Meeting held on May 20, 2025, celebrated the achievements of the top ten graduating students and recognized outstanding staff members for their contributions to the school community.
In a heartfelt ceremony, board member Dr. Wienhoff introduced the top ten students of the graduating class, highlighting their academic accomplishments and future plans. Among them, Brooke Shelbourne will pursue civil engineering at Tri University, while valedictorian Jed Mordoff plans to study global ministry and international business at Liberty University. Each student shared their hobbies and acknowledged the individuals who supported their success, including family, teachers, and coaches. Michelle Police, with over 20 years of service, was recognized for her dedication as a library assistant and her support in various school activities. Other honorees included Logan Kellermeier from Angola Middle School, who is known for his positive influence on students, and Danae Helmuth from Pleasant Lake, who fosters connections with students in the cafeteria.
Additionally, Mallory Hartman was named the District Teacher of the Year for her exceptional commitment to education and her ability to engage and inspire students. Her innovative teaching methods and dedication to student well-being have made a significant impact on the school community.
