Clear Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars hosts food drives and community support initiatives

During the recent County of Lake Board of Supervisors meeting, community support for local veterans took center stage as representatives from the Clear Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) shared their impactful initiatives. The organization highlighted its commitment to serving veterans and the community through various programs, including monthly breakfasts, behavioral support for children, and food giveaways.

One of the key announcements was the continuation of the food distribution program, which has been active for the past two months at the VA clinic. This initiative allows veterans to access essential items such as canned goods and meats, reinforcing the VFW's dedication to supporting those who have served.

Earl Mulhouse, the current commander of the VFW, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present their goals to the Board. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the VFW members, including past commander Rooster, to enhance the services provided to veterans and their families.
