Franklin Heights reports housing program success and local produce initiative

The Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority meeting on May 21, 2025, highlighted significant progress in local housing initiatives, particularly in Franklin Heights and Commerce Village. Maintenance updates indicated that the properties are well-managed, with 13 unit turnovers already completed this year and ongoing preventative maintenance for HVAC systems. The authority is also working on roof replacements and has reported only 10 vacancies across its properties, reflecting a stable housing environment.
