Operation Baby Shower supports USS Stockdale families and scholarships awarded at Dana Hills High

Residents are encouraged to donate essential baby care items for families of the USS Stockdale and the First Marine Regimental Headquarters. This initiative not only aims to support military families but also fosters a sense of community involvement and gratitude for their service.

The meeting also celebrated educational achievements, with the presentation of the Hidden Hills First Generation Scholarship to three deserving students from Dana Hills High School. Council members expressed their pride in Lolani Mae Bellon, Millie Lagunas, and Rosie Martinez, who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. This scholarship, founded to recognize student leaders, underscores the city’s commitment to supporting educational aspirations and empowering youth.

Additionally, the council recognized the creativity and patriotism of local students through an essay contest organized by the American Legion Auxiliary. Fourth grader Ali Purvis from George White Elementary was honored for her winning essay, which eloquently expressed the significance of the Pledge of Allegiance.
