DeWitt Schools honor exceptional students in annual recognition ceremony

In a heartwarming celebration of student achievements, the Cuyahoga Falls City Schools Board of Education meeting on April 23, 2025, showcased the remarkable talents and character of young learners from various elementary and middle schools. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their classrooms and communities.

The event kicked off with the introduction of Griffin Clayton, a first grader from Zwits Elementary, who was praised for his kindness and resilience. His teachers highlighted his positive attitude and dedication to learning, making him a role model for his peers. Following Griffin, Lucy Hager, another first grader, captivated the audience with her passion for learning and her active participation in extracurricular activities, including basketball and Girl Scouts.

As the recognition continued, students like Robbie Halitska and Kylie Ortiz from Lincoln Elementary were celebrated for their growth and supportive nature. Robbie's improvement in social skills and engagement in class was noted, while Kylie was commended for her empathy and willingness to help others.

The spotlight then shifted to students from Price Elementary, where Everett Teeter was recognized for his impressive academic skills and character. His kindness and readiness to assist classmates were highlighted as key traits that foster a supportive classroom environment. Similarly, Suminema Tambapu was acknowledged for her academic strengths and her ability to guide peers in their learning.

The middle school segment featured students like Jason Mazar from BOLC, whose dedication to improvement and respectful demeanor earned him accolades. Grace Sackett, also from BOLC, was celebrated for her responsibility and positive influence on her classmates, embodying the spirit of the school's Black Tiger pride.
