Council approves $3.97M amendment for terminal design with Park Hill

The Abilene Airport Development Board convened on May 23, 2025, to discuss significant developments regarding the terminal design project, particularly focusing on an amendment to the existing task order with Park Hill. Furthermore, the amendment allocates $100,000 for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), necessary to furnish the newly designed spaces. Additional consultant fees, amounting to $164,815, are also included to cover specialized services related to baggage handling and wayfinding systems.

An important aspect of this project is its funding structure. As an FAA-funded initiative, the design task order requires an independent fee estimate (IFE) to ensure financial compliance and fairness. The consulting firm Cutchins and Grow conducted this review, concluding that Park Hill's proposed fee was within an acceptable range, validating the financial adjustments being made.
