Hillsborough Township is set to enhance its road infrastructure as the Township Committee discussed significant updates on road paving and preservation during their recent meeting on March 25, 2025. The committee highlighted the upcoming completion of key projects, including the widening of Route 206 and the paving of Auton Road, which is scheduled to begin the week of April 14, coinciding with the Easter school break to minimize traffic disruptions.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT) has confirmed that improvements at the intersection of Bridal and Valley Road, along with the installation of temporary traffic signals, will be completed this spring. The township will provide a link to the DOT's construction updates on its website to keep residents informed.

In addition to Auton Road, the committee noted that paving work will resume on Township Line Road in the coming weeks. Several other roads, including Camden, Starview, Murray, Dogwood, and Ski Drive, are also on the agenda for repaving in 2024, following delays caused by cold weather.

The committee emphasized the importance of a comprehensive road preservation program, which includes not only milling and paving but also cost-effective surface treatments and ongoing maintenance efforts such as pothole repairs and crack sealing managed by the Department of Public Works (DPW).

As the township finalizes its 2025 road paving program list, residents can look forward to improved road conditions that will enhance safety and accessibility throughout Hillsborough. The next Township Committee meeting is scheduled for June 5, where further updates are expected.
