Planning board approves Fairhope Golf Works with new golf simulators and outdoor patios

A new golf simulation facility is set to enhance Fairhope's recreational offerings, as the City of Fairhope Board of Adjustments approved plans for Fairhope Golf Works during their meeting on May 19, 2025. The facility will feature eight golf simulators, two instructional simulators, and a central lounge area, designed to accommodate both casual players and serious golfers.

The proposed layout includes seating for approximately four people at each simulator, along with two restrooms and outdoor patio spaces. The total assembly area is projected to be around 3,700 square feet, necessitating 19 parking spaces, which the plans have adequately addressed. Board members emphasized the importance of delineating the patio area to prevent it from spilling into the parking lot, ensuring a safe and organized environment for visitors.

The approval comes with four conditions, including adherence to the city’s sign ordinance and the requirement for any additional parking spaces to be permeable. The facility's owners and their engineering consultant expressed gratitude for the support from city staff and highlighted the positive impact they believe Fairhope Golf Works will have on the community.

Concerns from a neighboring resident regarding the proximity of a bar were addressed, with clarification provided about the facility's intended operations, leading to a resolution of the issue. The facility is expected to operate from 7 AM to 10 PM, although specific hours are still being finalized.

This development marks a significant step in diversifying Fairhope's recreational landscape, promising to attract golf enthusiasts and families alike.
