Hearthstone Homeowners Association protests proposed warehouse on East Freck Avenue

Residents of Hillsborough are voicing strong concerns over a proposed warehouse development in the I-1 Light Industrial District, which they argue is incompatible with the surrounding residential areas. During a recent Planning Board meeting, community members expressed fears that the project would lead to increased traffic, safety hazards, and environmental degradation.

One resident, Maria from Manville, highlighted the discrepancy between the zoning designation and the scale of the proposed warehouse. She questioned how such a large structure could be classified as "light industrial," especially given the potential negative impact on nearby residential neighborhoods like Hearthstone, which is home to many seniors. Maria emphasized that buyers in these communities expect their residential properties to be protected from industrial encroachment, raising concerns about the planning board's previous decisions.

The discussion also touched on the implications of increased truck traffic on narrow local roads, which are not equipped to handle large vehicles safely.
