The Town of Davie celebrated the remarkable achievements of Nova Middle School students during the recent Town Council meeting on May 21, 2025. The students were honored for winning first place in the National Civics and Constitution Competition, marking the third consecutive year that the school has secured this prestigious award.
Council members expressed their pride in the students, acknowledging the hard work and dedication required to excel in such a challenging program. One council member, a former high school history teacher, shared personal insights into the rigorous preparation involved, emphasizing the significance of this accomplishment.
During the meeting, the students were presented with certificates and a framed proclamation recognizing their success. The honored students included Violet Adelstein, Aiden Phoenix Alvarez, Jonathan Ortiz, and many others, along with special recognition for their coaches, Kristen and William Murphy.
