Mayor Tejeda reaffirms commitment to community programs at Floresville Christmas parade

Over the years, the club has awarded approximately $208,000 in scholarships, enabling children from Floresville and surrounding areas to participate in various programs, including summer camps and sports. The club's commitment to inclusivity is evident, as they offer scholarships and payment plans to ensure all children can access their services.

Despite facing challenges, including the loss of their charter application in 2015, the Boys and Girls Club remains dedicated to its mission. They have adapted by collaborating with local initiatives to provide work readiness programs for students with disabilities, further demonstrating their commitment to community service.

In addition to the discussion on youth programs, the meeting also celebrated the success of the recent Christmas parade, where local organizations were recognized for their participation. The Giggles and Smiles Learning Center took first place, followed by Santa's Helpers and Duncan's Martial Arts and Fire Dragon Tumbling in second and third places, respectively. These events not only foster community spirit but also highlight the importance of local organizations in enhancing the quality of life in Floresville.
