Commissioners approve $21,000 funding for Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience in Scottsdale

The Scottsdale Tourism Development Commission has taken a significant step towards enhancing cultural tourism by recommending a funding request of up to $21,000 to support the Arizona Native Culinary Experience event. This annual event, now in its twelfth year and eighth year in Scottsdale, aims to celebrate and promote Arizona's indigenous culinary heritage.

During the meeting on May 20, 2025, Jeffrey Ferns, founder and producer of the event, presented the unique aspects of the Arizona Native Culinary Experience. He highlighted that it is the only event of its kind in the country, bringing together chefs from all 22 Arizona tribes to showcase traditional ingredients in contemporary dishes.
