Graduation ceremonies for the class of 2025 are a highlight of the upcoming week, with multiple events scheduled. The first ceremonies will take place on Tuesday at the Meyer Center at Gaston College, featuring the Gaston Early College High School at 3 PM and the Gaston Early College High School of Medical Sciences at 6 PM. Many students from these early college programs will also receive associate degrees.

Subscribe for Free On Wednesday, three additional graduations are planned: the Gaston Virtual Academy at 9 AM, Webb Street School at 11 AM, and Warlick Academy at 2 PM, all held at their respective venues. The week will culminate in a major celebration on Friday evening at 6 PM, honoring graduates from ten traditional high schools.
The meeting also highlighted the recent Evening of Excellence ceremony, which recognized outstanding educators and announced the Teacher of the Year for the 2025-2026 school year. John Ramos from Forest View High School received the award and a new Kia K4, thanks to local sponsorship.
Looking ahead, the board reminded the community that Memorial Day on May 26 will result in school closures. A summer work schedule will begin on July 2, with offices open Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays until August 1.
