Lubbock Public Library launches 2025 Summer Reading Program with free events

The City Council of Lubbock has announced an exciting initiative for the community with the launch of the 2025 Summer Reading Program at the Lubbock Public Library. Kicking off on May 27 and running through July 31, this program promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and adventure for residents of all ages.

The Summer Reading Program will feature a variety of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, music, a color walk, and even a petting zoo. These events are designed to foster a love for reading and creativity among participants. Additionally, the program will reintroduce the popular reading challenge through the Read Squared app, where participants can earn prizes simply by reading.

In a special offer, those who register for the program will also receive a free city bus pass for the summer, making it easier for everyone to participate in the fun. The program is open to kids, teens, and adults, ensuring that the entire community can join in on the excitement.
