Non-emergency transport success story highlights partnership with Paul Bunyan Transit

In a recent Beltrami County work session, the spotlight shone on a remarkable success story in non-emergency medical transportation. Christina, the county's non-emergency medical transportation specialist, went above and beyond to ensure a client received essential medical care.

Working closely with Paul Bunyan Transit, Christina coordinated a volunteer driver to assist a client in reaching a local eye appointment. Although regulations typically prevent volunteer drivers from helping clients from the car to the door, Christina advocated for additional support from the provider to ensure the client received the necessary assistance. This effort was crucial, as the appointment was vital for the client’s vision.

"This was a really big success story for that client," said Josh, a participant in the meeting. The collaborative effort not only facilitated the appointment but also highlighted the county's commitment to providing effective and compassionate services.

The county continues to strengthen its partnership with PrimeWest, aiming to deliver cost-effective transportation options while seeking reimbursement from state and federal programs.
