The Granbury Independent School District (GISD) held a momentous graduation ceremony on May 24, 2025, celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2025. This year's event highlighted the longstanding tradition of recognizing honor graduates, a practice that began with the class of 2018. Students who completed at least 16 advanced academic credits were awarded an honor cord, symbolizing their academic excellence.
During the ceremony, the top ten graduates were acknowledged, with eight of them wearing white honor cords. The salutatorian, Mason Aaron Rucas, delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on the challenges faced throughout their high school journey. He emphasized the importance of resilience and personal growth, stating, "We are defined by our accomplishments, our actions, and our thoughts."
