Cedar Valley graduates celebrate with principal Courtney Johnson at 2025 commencement

The Cedar Valley High School graduation ceremony held on May 22, 2025, celebrated the achievements of the graduating class with heartfelt tributes and traditional rituals. The event highlighted the contributions of Principal Courtney Johnson, who was honored by the graduates with a shadow box as a token of appreciation for her support throughout their educational journey.

During the ceremony, graduates participated in a symbolic moment by moving their tassels from right to left, officially marking their transition into the class of 2025. This act is a longstanding tradition that signifies their accomplishment and readiness to embark on new adventures.

The Cedar Valley Wind Symphony provided musical accompaniment, performing the school’s fight song as graduates and attendees joined in song. Following the performance, a recessional took place, allowing graduates to exit the ceremony while parents and guests remained seated to celebrate the moment.
