Davis County approves agreements for dementia support and law enforcement dispatch services

The Davis County Commission meeting on May 27, 2025, focused on several key agreements and contracts aimed at enhancing community services and infrastructure.

One significant item discussed was a memorandum of understanding with the Purple Tie Gala Committee. This agreement aims to support individuals experiencing dementia and their families through services provided by the county's aging or senior services division. The funding for this initiative will depend on the number of individuals who qualify for assistance, with the agreement effective from May 27, 2025, until terminated.

Another important topic was the approval of a bus use agreement with the Bountiful Historic Preservation Foundation. This agreement, in collaboration with Bountiful City, will facilitate a historical home tour during Bountiful Handcart Days on July 26, 2025. The funding for this initiative will also depend on volunteer participation.

The meeting also included a proposal from the Information Systems department to upgrade the internet connection at the Western Sports Park. This five-year agreement will increase bandwidth at a cost of $1,308 per month, starting immediately and running until May 27, 2030.

Additionally, the library services presented a renewal agreement with Creative Empire LLC for the Mango Languages database, which will cost $45,024.60 over three years, with annual payments of $15,008.20. Another contract discussed was a memo of understanding with the Utah Education and Telehealth Network (UETN) to secure discounted internet services for the library.

Lastly, the sheriff's office proposed an interlocal cooperative agreement with Sunset City Corporation for law enforcement dispatch services, amounting to $28,126.50, effective from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

All items presented during the meeting received unanimous approval from the commissioners, reflecting a commitment to enhancing community services and infrastructure in Davis County.
