North Hunterdon High School seniors celebrated for outstanding academic and athletic achievements

The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education convened on May 27, 2025, to discuss various topics, including student achievements, upcoming events, and a demographic study presentation.

The meeting commenced with a recognition of two student representatives, Shivam Patel and Amelia Reitman, who have actively contributed to their school community. Shivam, set to attend James Madison University for engineering, has held multiple leadership roles, including class president and member of various clubs. Amelia plans to pursue dual associate degrees in accounting and biomedical science while being involved in numerous honor societies and community projects, such as the installation of a pollinator garden.

Following the student recognition, Brooke Engler, a standout in freestyle mogul skiing, was introduced. Brooke has achieved significant success in her sport, including multiple top finishes in competitions and an invitation to prestigious events, showcasing her resilience and dedication despite facing injuries.

The meeting also highlighted the recent prom event and the upcoming senior activities, including awards ceremonies and graduation preparations. Student representatives reported on the success of the track team and other spring sports, with several teams advancing to state tournaments.

A key agenda item was a presentation by Richard Gripp on a demographic study aimed at forecasting student enrollment over the next five years. The study is intended to provide insights into the regional population trends affecting the school district.
