ACP High's Sean Lady wins state wrestling championship and aims for Ivy League college

The Chandler Unified School District Governing Board celebrated the achievements of local student-athlete Sean Lady during its regular business meeting on April 23, 2025. Sean, a junior wrestler from ACP High School, recently clinched the state championship in his weight class, a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.

Coach Paul Huffman praised Sean's commitment, noting that he has been driven to excel since his freshman year. "You couldn't ask for a better wrestler to have as a coach," Huffman said, highlighting Sean's coachability and teamwork. Beyond his athletic prowess, Sean is also an outstanding student, maintaining nearly straight A's while taking advanced placement and honors classes.

Looking ahead, Sean has set his sights on wrestling at a collegiate level, with aspirations to attend an Ivy League school. He has planned visits to prestigious institutions such as Columbia, Brown University, and the University of Chicago this summer. Coach Huffman expressed confidence in Sean's potential, stating, "He's the whole package."
