Jordan School District celebrates student achievements and honors Superintendent Godfrey

The Jordan School District Board of Education convened on May 27, 2025, to celebrate student achievements and discuss various district activities. The meeting commenced with congratulations to students involved in club organizations, highlighting their dedication and hard work. Board members encouraged students to collect commemorative pens as a token of recognition.

Following the initial acknowledgments, board member reports showcased a range of district events attended in April and May. Highlights included a spring musical performance of "Shrek" at Khairi Sue Hamilton, where students showcased their talents over three days. Art shows at both middle and high schools were noted, with specific praise for a self-portrait by a student from Mountain Ridge High School and a detailed pen drawing from a middle school student. The board also recognized participation in the Unified Special Olympics golf event and a film showcase for CTE students, emphasizing the creativity and hard work of the participants.

The meeting included a special recognition of Superintendent Anthony Godfrey, who marked six years in his role, significantly exceeding the national average tenure for superintendents. Board members expressed gratitude for his leadership and the positive impact he has had on the district.
