LaBelle Family Livestock Club demands fair scheduling policies for rodeo events

During the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 27, 2025, club members expressed their concerns about being bumped from reserved dates in favor of larger, three-day rodeos.

Alexandra Williams, a new member of the club, shared her positive experiences at the rodeo grounds, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and the dedication of club volunteers. However, she voiced disappointment over the club's events being overshadowed by outside groups that do not contribute to the local community. Williams emphasized the need for a first-come, first-served policy to protect their scheduled events from being displaced.

Sherry Walker, the club's president, reinforced this sentiment, detailing the club's long-standing commitment to community service and youth engagement. She pointed out that their events are crucial for local riders, as they help participants qualify for state championships and provide a safe environment for families.
