Clearfield City partners with new builder to accelerate home construction in subdivision

Clearfield City is taking steps to accelerate the construction of a new single-family subdivision, following a slow start in home sales and development. During the recent City Council meeting on May 27, 2025, officials discussed a partnership with another home builder to expedite the process.

The subdivision, developed by Destination Homes, was initially agreed upon in February 2022 and includes 101 lots designed with unique architecture and ample open space. Currently, Phase 1 consists of 58 homes, of which only 18 have been completed, leaving 40 lots still to be developed. Phase 2, which includes an additional 43 homes, has yet to begin construction.

To address the sluggish pace of home sales and construction, the city is exploring a collaboration where Destination Homes will continue to oversee the development, including responsibilities for roads, sidewalks, and common areas. The new builder will take on the construction of homes and landscaping on the purchased lots.

This strategic move aims to revitalize the project and meet community housing needs more effectively. As the partnership progresses, Clearfield City anticipates a boost in home construction and sales, ultimately enhancing the local housing market and providing more options for residents.
