Road resurfacing bids opened with costs ranging from $1.5M to $2.6M

Gardner City officials have taken a significant step towards improving local infrastructure with the recent bid opening for road resurfacing and paving projects. During the meeting held on May 30, 2025, five bids were presented, showcasing a range of costs and proposals for the essential work.

The lowest bid came from Massachusetts Provence Home Company, totaling $1,592,920 for both projects. This bid is expected to provide the city with a cost-effective solution for enhancing road conditions. Following closely was PJ Heating, with a bid of $1,744,400, which also included a bid bond.

Other bids included Paul Here Paving at $2,286,260 and PJ L. Harvey at $2,420,000. The highest bid was from AF Amarello and Sons, which proposed a total of $2,626,640.

City officials will review these bids in detail before making a final decision, ensuring that the selected contractor can deliver quality work within budget.
