The St. Joseph School District Board of Education meeting on May 27, 2025, highlighted the remarkable achievements of students across various programs, showcasing their dedication and excellence in academics and extracurricular activities.
Marta Sansone, representing RubyDew Bridal School, opened the meeting by honoring Ms. Janae Brown for her pivotal role in establishing the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program at RubyDew Middle School. She celebrated student Cannon, who excelled in the Video Game Challenge, securing first place at the state level and qualifying for nationals for the second consecutive year.

Subscribe for Free Annalise Klein, another standout student, was recognized for her accomplishments in the SkillsUSA competition. She earned two gold medals at the state level in first aid and CPR, qualifying her to represent the district at the National SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, later this June.
Central High School's band program was also in the spotlight, with director Linnea Wootton acknowledging five students who achieved gold ratings at the state music contest. Among them, Asav Gupta was present to receive recognition for his snare drum solo.
The meeting further celebrated the Central High School Scholar Bowl team, which recently won its second state championship. Coach Carter detailed the team's impressive record and their performance at nationals, where they competed against 336 teams.
Lastly, Ridge Stagner from Benton High School was honored for his outstanding performance in tennis, finishing as the state runner-up and achieving the highest finish for a singles player in the school's history.
The meeting concluded with a sense of pride in the students' accomplishments, reflecting the district's commitment to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics. The board expressed its support for these students as they continue to represent their schools and the community on larger stages.
