Camilla Vandegrift delivers inspiring valedictorian speech at AN McCallum High School graduation

The McCallum High School graduation ceremony for the class of 2025 took place on May 31, 2025, celebrating the achievements of the graduating students. The event commenced with a warm welcome and recognition of the salutatorian, Tegan, who was presented with a plaque for her accomplishments. Tegan's parents, John and Mary Rutherford, were acknowledged for their support.

Following this, the valedictorian, Camilla Vandegrift, addressed her classmates. In her speech, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent her class and reflected on her experiences throughout high school. Vandegrift candidly shared her struggles with rejection, noting that she faced several disappointments this year, including not being selected for leadership roles she aspired to. Mr. Segura, representing the Austin ISD board of trustees, certified that the graduates had met all requirements for graduation, allowing them to receive their diplomas.
