North Hollywood High School celebrated a significant achievement at the Los Angeles City Council meeting on May 30, 2025, as they were honored for securing third place in the National Science Bowl competition held in Washington, D.C. This prestigious event, sponsored by a federal agency, showcases the academic prowess of students across the nation, and North Hollywood High has a remarkable history of success, having previously won the championship in 2001 and 2021.
Councilmember Nazarian welcomed the students, faculty, and supporters, commending their dedication and teamwork against 65 other regional teams. He highlighted the importance of STEM education in shaping future leaders in scientific fields. Principal Ricardo Rosales and coach Alter Main were also recognized for their roles in fostering a culture of excellence within the school’s Science Bowl program.
