Southside High School plans senior prom and graduation events for Class of 2025

The Southside High School administration held a meeting to discuss important details regarding the upcoming senior prom, post-prom party, and graduation for the Class of 2025. Principal Dr. Walsh and Assistant Principal Ms. Green outlined key information that students and parents must be aware of to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

The senior prom is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Heritage Club in Bethpage. Students are required to arrive on time, and staff will conduct vehicle checks for inappropriate substances. Any student found under the influence or in possession of prohibited items, including vaping products, will be removed from the event and must be picked up by a parent or guardian. Additionally, students in violation of these rules will not be allowed to participate in graduation ceremonies.

Students bringing guests from outside Southside High School must complete an outside guest application form, which can be submitted to the main office or when picking up prom tickets. Tickets are priced at $95 and can be purchased online from June 2 to June 6. A verification form confirming that both the student and parent have watched the pre-prom video must be submitted to purchase tickets.

Following the prom, a post-prom party will take place at Dave and Buster's in Westbury. Students are responsible for their own transportation, and no reentry will be allowed once they leave the venue. Bags are not permitted at this event.

Looking ahead to graduation, mandatory rehearsal will occur on June 25 at 11:30 AM in the high school auditorium. Students must attend to participate in the graduation ceremony. Caps and gowns will be distributed during rehearsal, and any cap decorations must receive prior approval from the administration.

Graduation is set for June 27 at Hofstra University's David Mack Sports Complex, starting at 5 PM. There are no ticket restrictions, allowing students to invite as many guests as they wish. Students are reminded to check in without wearing their caps and gowns, which they will don after check-in.
