Graduation preparations are in full swing at SVAHS, with the announcement of this year's valedictorian and salutatorian highlighting the excitement. Beck Marks and Owen Therian, both from the criminal justice program, have been officially notified and are gearing up to deliver their speeches at the upcoming graduation ceremony scheduled for next Thursday, June 29.
In addition to the academic accolades, the school is seeing a record number of students participating in senior salutes, with around 75 students opting in to share their plans and memories from their time at Smith. This year marks the highest engagement in this initiative, showcasing the vibrant community spirit among the graduating class.

Students from horticulture, carpentry, and cabinet-making programs are actively involved in setting up for the ceremony, with freshman carpentry students already working on leveling the stage in anticipation of potential rain.
Meanwhile, the board is moving forward with staffing changes, including interviews for an advanced manufacturing instructor and narrowing down candidates for an assistant principal position. These developments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance educational offerings at the school.
