The Dunnellon High School 2025 Commencement Ceremony took place on June 2, 2025, celebrating the achievements of the graduating class. A key highlight of the event was the address by this year's salutatorian, Kayla Tavares Massey.
Kayla, the daughter of Jeremy and Anna Massey, has made a significant impact during her time at Dunnellon High through her academic excellence and active participation in school activities. She excelled in the advanced studies program and was involved in student government during her senior year. Additionally, Kayla has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and has actively participated in HOSA, the Future Health Professionals organization, where she currently serves as secretary.
Her accomplishments extend beyond academics; Kayla has earned certifications as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and a Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT). Graduating with an impressive 4.75 GPA, she has also completed her Associate of Arts degree from the College of Central Florida and plans to continue her education there.
In her speech, Kayla expressed her gratitude to the class of 2025, staff, and family and friends who attended the ceremony, emphasizing her honor in representing her graduating class. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students, celebrating their hard work and dedication throughout their high school years.
