The Harnett County Board of Commissioners convened on June 2, 2025, to address several key agenda items and approve various action items. The meeting commenced with the approval of the meeting minutes from May 19 and May 27, 2025.
The Harnett County Information Technology Department presented a request for the board to adopt a resolution updating the review officers. Additionally, the department sought approval to relocate the GIS department to new offices at 420 McKinney Parkway.

Subscribe for Free Harnett Regional Water made multiple requests for project ordinances, including approvals for the Buies Creek and Coats Collection System upgrades, Erwin downtown utility upgrades, the old Hamilton Road water extension, and a lead and copper compliance project.
The board also discussed a resolution requesting the North Carolina Department of Transportation to add several roads to the secondary road system. Following discussions from the previous work session, Amanda Reagan was appointed to the Harnett County Planning Board for District 2.
Public comments were invited, with eight citizens providing their remarks. The board approved a five-year fleet agreement with Enterprise to procure vehicles for the sheriff's office. Furthermore, the fiscal year 2025-2026 recommended budget was discussed, and budget amendments were approved during the county manager's report. The board also approved bids for chemicals for the water treatment and wastewater treatment plants for the upcoming fiscal year.
There was no new business or closed session announced. The meeting concluded with an invitation for a town hall meeting on June 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM with Commissioner William Bill Morris at the Anderson Creek Fire Station. The next work session is scheduled for June 10 at 9 AM, followed by the next board meeting on June 16 at 6 PM.
