Tumwater council discusses food security and community engagement strategies

During a recent meeting of the Tumwater General Government Committee, city officials discussed pressing community needs, particularly around food security and access to services. Ideas included creating a line item in the budget dedicated to food access and safety, as well as expanding the city’s lending library system to include "little free pantries." These pantries would allow residents to share food resources within the community, fostering resilience and neighborly support.
