Mayor Judd Ashman proclaims June 2025 as Bridal Month in Gaithersburg

During the recent Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meeting, a significant proclamation was made declaring June 2025 as Bridal Month in the city. This initiative aims to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and promote acceptance and equality through various events and activities.

Mayor Judd Ashman highlighted the importance of June as a symbolic month for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for civil rights and the need for continued education and awareness. As part of the celebrations, the city will host a range of programming, including performances of the play "Bull in a China Shop" at the Arts Barn from June 2 to June 22. Additionally, the Community Museum will feature a Rainbow Families Weekend, along with a special story time event titled "Free to Be Me" on June 24. A hands-on activity at the Catlin's Mansion will also allow participants to create bridal ribbon wands, further engaging the community in the festivities.
