Cindy Trevino, Director of Marketing and Corporate Sponsorships, reported on the success of an Earth Day cleanup event held on April 22, which partnered with Pantalone's Tequila and Austin FC. Initially expecting only 50 participants, the event attracted 160 volunteers, leading to a celebratory happy hour and recognition of the community's efforts. The event's success was amplified by social media coverage, including a mention from actor Matthew McConaughey, who expressed interest in visiting South Padre Island.

Additionally, Trevino shared that People Magazine has shown interest in featuring the beach cleanup, further enhancing the island's visibility. The board also discussed participation in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, which continues to draw large crowds and promote the island's attractions.
