Linden City honors IT specialist John Ogden and Detective Derek Clegg for outstanding service

Lindon City Council celebrated outstanding contributions from its employees during a recent meeting, shining a spotlight on two key figures: IT specialist John Ogden and Detective Derek Clegg.

John Ogden received accolades for his exceptional work in IT, particularly for his role in assisting with critical audits involving the CGA, BCI, and FBI. His quick response times and problem-solving skills have made him an invaluable asset to the city. One nomination highlighted, “If you have a request, it’s just a quick text or an email, and John usually says give me a minute, and then seconds later, he has it fixed.”

Detective Derek Clegg was also recognized for his exemplary service, particularly in a recent burglary case where he not only solved the crime but also assisted other agencies. His dedication extends beyond investigations; he is actively working with the Forest Service to address suicide prevention in the community, showcasing his commitment to public safety and well-being.

Both employees were presented with $50 Amazon gift cards as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The council emphasized the importance of recognizing talent within the small community, reinforcing the idea that even in a small town, significant contributions can make a big impact.
