Davis County launches Davis Links program to unite community health resources

The Davis County Commission held a work session on June 3, 2025, focusing on the development of community health initiatives and resource coordination. A significant topic of discussion was the Davis for Health plan, which has been in development for several years and is reassessed every five years. This plan aims to strategically invest in health resources to meet the county's overall goals.

Commissioner Bridal introduced the Davis Links program, a new initiative designed to enhance collaboration among human services in the county. This program originated from efforts by former Commissioner Downes to unify various resources and services. After a period of inactivity, current Commissioner Smith has revitalized the concept, leading to the establishment of the Davis Human Services cabinet.

The Davis Links program aims to create a centralized resource locator that allows residents to access various services more easily. This initiative is supported by funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and aims to address the needs of the community by providing a platform where agencies can share information about their services. Currently, the program operates in a virtual format, but plans are in place to develop a physical location to assist those who may struggle with online access, particularly seniors.

The overarching goal of these initiatives is to foster collective impact by aligning resources and services within the community. The commissioners emphasized the importance of moving beyond scattered funding to create a more significant and measurable impact on public health and community well-being. The discussions highlighted a commitment to improving access to health resources and enhancing collaboration among various agencies in Davis County.
