Austintown prepares for June 29 festival with entertainment and celebrity appearances

The Austintown Township Trustee Meeting held on June 2, 2025, focused on the upcoming community festivities scheduled for Sunday, June 29, at Hollywood Gaming. The meeting highlighted the successful transition of last year's event to the new venue, addressing initial concerns and outlining improvements for this year.

The festivities will kick off at 4 PM, with gates opening at 2 PM for early attendees. A variety of activities are planned, including inflatables provided by Austin Town Bounce, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Popular characters, including Louie, will be present to engage with children, alongside entertainment from a magician and balloon artist.

The entertainment lineup features local bands, with performances scheduled from 4 PM to 9 PM. Notable acts include Relapse, Eighties Proof, and the headline act, Disco Inferno, which is expected to draw a large crowd. Organizers anticipate a turnout exceeding 1,000 attendees, aided by traffic management plans coordinated with local authorities.

Additionally, the event will feature celebrity appearances, including Len Barker from the Cleveland Indians, Bob Bullock from the Browns and "Saved by the Bell," and Pittsburgh Steelers legends Jeff Reed and Dwayne Witcher, who will be signing autographs throughout the day.

The festivities will culminate in a fireworks display at 10 PM, funded by the Walter Lecky Fund, promising to be a highlight of the evening. The meeting concluded with excitement for the upcoming event and a preview of the parade details to be shared by another trustee.
