Independent School District 882 approves donations for sports and arts programs

Monticello Public Schools is set to enhance its extracurricular offerings thanks to generous donations approved during the school board meeting on June 2, 2025. Superintendent Eric Olsen announced a series of contributions aimed at supporting various school programs, including athletics and the arts.

The board accepted an anonymous donation of $2,500 designated for the boys' tennis coaches, ensuring that the team will have the necessary resources for the upcoming season. Additionally, the Monticello VFW contributed $1,000 to support the Monty Python's robotics team, fostering innovation and teamwork among students. Elements Incorporated also stepped in with a $1,000 sponsorship for the Monticello Fishing Team, promoting outdoor activities and environmental awareness. Lastly, the Central Minnesota Arts Board provided $2,523 for the Community Strings program, which will take place this summer, enriching the district's arts education.
