Caleb Sellers proposes Eagle Scout bandstand at Gettysburg's Unity Park

During the recent Gettysburg Area School Board meeting, Caleb Sellers, a member of Boy Scout Troop 73, presented an ambitious Eagle Scout project aimed at enhancing Unity Park. The proposed project involves constructing a bandstand that will serve as a dedicated space for both musical and non-musical performances, thereby increasing the park's appeal and functionality.

Sellers explained that the idea for the bandstand builds on a previous Eagle Scout project that honored Civil War musicians. His design is intended to complement the existing bell stand in Alumni Park, creating a cohesive aesthetic that reflects the historical significance of the area. The proposed bandstand will draw inspiration from structures built in the late 1800s, a period when Gettysburg began to be recognized for its historical importance.

The project aims to revitalize Unity Park, which Sellers noted is currently underutilized.
